About Johnathan

Johnathan Barnes

Johnathan began working in ministry in 2000 as a youth volunteer at Scott AFB chapel while serving as an Air Force officer. He has served on a church staff as an executive pastor, youth pastor, children’s pastor, college pastor, and virtual (online and streaming ministry) pastor. He has also overseen prison, outreach, and mission ministries.

Johnathan graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He also earned a Masters in Educational Ministries and a Masters in Religions and Cultures from Covenant Theological Seminary and coached Certificate in Youth and Theology students for Princeton Theological Seminary.

Johnathan is also a cyber security subject matter expert and holds the following cyber security certifications: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Information Security Manager, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Johnathan is the Executive Director of Virtual Ministry Assistants, a consultant with Ministry Architects, and founder of Ministry Cyber Professionals.
